Match Report by Sylvester Simon

Going into the match, we knew Hanworth were at the opposite end of the table to us, but we did not want complacency to creep into our game. We were on top in the first 15 minutes and had plenty of chances without worrying the Hanworth goalkeeper, who commanded his area with ease.

Even while dominating, we had to watch Hanworth on the counter. After 28 minutes, Gabby followed some skilful work in the Hanworth area with a neat finish to give Sharks the lead. Just four minutes later, I got a rather lucky goal, with the ball deflecting off me after the keeper parried. The goal was allowed despite protests from the Hanworth defenders that I was offside.

We had plenty of chances to add to our lead but always lacked the final pass or shot. Just as Hanworth were getting a foothold in the game, I scored from the edge of the area after it came out to me from a corner. Jayden made three great saves as Hanworth tried to get something out of the game while we failed to convert our own further pressure into goals.

In injury time, Jayden was unlucky to concede a goal which looked offside. However we had nothing to complain about as we came out 3-1 winners.
